Edimeals Inc. and its affiliates understand and appreciate the concerns that you may have with regard to personal information gathered on our Sites. Edimeals has adopted this Privacy Policy to provide transparency to you and to ensure the confidentiality of such personal information.

We respect your privacy and believe the best way to serve you through a Site is with honesty, accountability and adherence to legal standards. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of privacy and have structured the features of Edimeals’ Sites to minimize the requirement to collect personal information, and to maximize your control over the collection, use and disclosure of any personal information.

By visiting or interacting with our Sites, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. We may change this Privacy Policy at any time, and your continued use of our Sites indicates your agreement to the revised terms. Accordingly, you should review this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep informed of such amendments. The most recent date of revision will be indicated prominently at the top of the Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Sites where this Privacy Policy is posted and does not apply to other Sites operated by Edimeals or third parties. Please read the respective Sites’ terms of use and policies when accessing such other sites or using such third-party applications.

Please also make sure to read Edimeals’ Terms of Use as it supplements and forms part of this Privacy Policy. By using the Site you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. If you do not agree to the terms of this policy or any revised Privacy Policy, please do not register as a user or further interact with the Site.

We may collect two types of information from visitors to the Sites: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information. The website will collect Personal Information only where it is voluntarily provided by the individual.

Non-Personal Information

  • The type and version of browser being used to access the website or application
  • Your computer and its operating systems and browsers
  • Website from which you visit us (referral URL)
  • Website that you are visiting
  • Date and Time of day of your access
  • Your Internet protocol (IP) address

We may also collect information about you from a social network site you may be a member of or have connected from, in order to provide you with a more personalized experience. In some cases, we will collect psychographic data from third parties that help us better understand our users.

Personal Information

We do not process sensitive personal data about race or ethnicity; political opinions, or religious or philosophical beliefs; trade union membership; or genetic, biometric, health, or sex-life information (“special categories of personal data” as defined by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation) unless you provide or indicate such information in a user-controlled area of our services, for example a professional profile.

We Obtain your personal data in two different ways:

Data that you provide to us

We collect personal data directly from you, for example, the contact information and log-in credentials that we use to provide our services to you, and the profile details that you choose to enter into our registration forms.  If you seek help with technical issues, you may share information about your devices with us, such as their operating system and installed programs.

If you send an e-mail to us or fill out our “feedback” form through the Site, we will collect your e-mail address and the full content of your e-mail, including attached files, and other information you provide.  We may use and display your full name and email address when you send an email notification to a friend through the Site or the social network from which you have connected to the website or application (such as in an invitation, or when sharing your content).

If you choose this option, the personal data that we collect will depend on the privacy settings of your social media account.

Third Party Applications Used on EdiMeals

Usage of Google Analytics with an IP anonymization function

Edimeals rely on Google Analytics, a web analysis service from the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 United States, hereafter also referred to as “Google”.  Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” – text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your usage of the website.  The information generated by these cookies – e.g. time, place and frequency of your website visit, along with your IP address – is transferred to Google in the US and stored there.

We use Google Analytics with an IP anonymization function. If you use our website within the member countries of the European Union or in other states that are parties to the European Economic Area Convention, your IP address is shortened and thus anonymized by Google. Google uses this information to evaluate your usage of our website, which enables Google to compile reports about website activity for internal purposes.  Google also uses this collected information to render additional services associated with the usage of the website and of the Internet.

As required, Google also transfers this information to third parties insofar as this has been prescribed by law or insofar as third parties process these data on Google’s behalf. Google asserts that it in no way associates your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser’s settings; however, do note that, if you do this, you may not be able to fully make use of all functions of our website.

Moreover, for the most popular browsers, Google offers a deactivation option that provides you with more control over which data are collected and processed by Google. If you should activate this option, no information regarding your website visit is transferred to Google Analytics. However, the activation of this option does not prevent information from being transferred to us or to any other web analysis services that we commission. For additional information regarding the deactivation option provided by Google as well as regarding the activation of this option, click here.

Google Invisible reCAPTCHA

In order to protect the input forms on our website, Edimeals utilise the “reCAPTCHA” service from the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 United States, hereafter also referred to as “Google”. Edimeals use Google Invisible reCAPTCHA to secure our products and websites from abuse.

With this service, we can differentiate between information that has been entered onto a form by a human and information that has been entered by an automated machine. The use of automated information entry constitutes misuse. To the best of our knowledge, the referrer URL, the IP address, the behaviour of website visitors, information about the operating system, browser and length of the visit, cookies, display instructions and scripts are transmitted to Google for risk analysis.  The information obtained via the reCAPTCHA data collection and use are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
